3.4 billion soums designated for the restoration of historical sites were embezzled in Bukhara. The General Prosecutor's Office disclosed this information.

An investigation into the renovation of several historical landmarks in Bukhara, including the "Khoja Kalon" mosque, the "Husayni" and "Nodir Devonbegi" madrasas, and the walls of the "Ark" complex, revealed fraudulent activities such as falsifying records of work completed:

  •  731 million soums were misappropriated from the "Khoja Kalon" mosque.
  •  216 million soums were misappropriated from the "Husayni" madrasa.
  •  90 million soums were misappropriated from the "Nopdir Devonbegi" madrasa.

Furthermore, 50 million soums allocated for the installation of directional signs in Bukhara's historical center were also misused.

Moreover, officials from the Bukhara Regional Restoration Center falsely documented the utilization of 2.3 billion soums for procurement, when in reality, the funds were stolen.

As a result of the investigation, criminal proceedings have been initiated against officials of the Bukhara Regional Restoration Center and others, citing violations of Article 167, Part 3, Clause "a," and Article 209, Part 2, Clause "a," of the Criminal Code.
