Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs facilitated the return of a group of Uzbek citizens from Iran through Turkmenistan by transit. This was reported by Dunyo.

Uzbekistan’s diplomatic missions in Ashgabat and Tehran, in cooperation with the relevant Turkmen authorities, promptly resolved visa, transport and logistics issues.

With the assistance of the Turkmen side, 41 Uzbek citizens were received at the Sarakhs–Serakhs and Gaudan–Bajgiran border checkpoints, and diplomatic staff ensured their safe return to Uzbekistan.

“These measures once again confirm that protecting the rights and legitimate interests of citizens is a priority in Uzbekistan’s foreign policy. At the same time, the coordinated efforts of the parties demonstrated the high level of mutual trust and good-neighborly relations in the region,” the report said.

Earlier, it was reported that seven children who had been left in a difficult situation in Russia were returned to Uzbekistan.
