Uzbekistan national team forward and Istanbul Basaksehir striker Eldor Shomurodov has been named Uzbekistan’s Footballer of the Year for 2025. The announcement was made at the Uzbekistan Football Association’s annual awards ceremony.
Over the past year, Shomurodov helped the Uzbekistan national team secure qualification for the FIFA World Cup for the first time in the country’s history. He also won the CAFA Nations Cup with the national team in September 2025.
The national team captain finished ahead of several other leading Uzbek players in the voting, including Utkir Yusupov, Abbosbek Fayzullayev, Abdukodir Khusanov, and Jaloliddin Masharipov.
For reference, in 2024 Abbosbek Fayzullayev was named Uzbekistan’s Footballer of the Year, edging Abduqodir Husanov by just one point in the final vote tally.
