A woman has been detained in Bukhara for demanding money from her friend in exchange for not distributing intimate photos, according to the regional Department of Internal Affairs. A video related to the case was released.
The incident occurred after the suspect created a fake Telegram profile and obtained intimate images of her friend. She allegedly demanded $6,000 in exchange for not sharing the materials, the Bukhara regional Department of Internal Affairs reported.
According to officials, on January 19 this year, an individual using the name Feruz contacted the victim on Telegram and pretended to be romantically interested in her. Trusting the “mysterious admirer,” the woman sent highly personal photos and videos. After that, the suspect allegedly threatened her, saying she would distribute the explicit images to the victim’s family, including her parents, unless $6,000 was paid.
Following the complaint, officers from the Bukhara regional Department of Internal Affairs conducted a special оператив-search operation. During the operation, part of the demanded sum, 2 million sums, was transferred to a plastic card. The suspect was detained at the scene with material evidence.
A criminal case has been opened under Article 165, Part 1 of the Criminal Code (extortion), and investigative actions are currently underway.
It is worth noting that earlier in the Karovulbazar district of the Bukhara region, two men were detained for threatening to disclose a romantic relationship and demanding 100 million sums from a woman.
