On November 7, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev concluded his working visit to the United States, which featured an extensive schedule of engagements. The announcement was made by the President’s press service.
In Washington, the head of state held productive talks at the White House with President Donald Trump and participated in the C5+1 Summit involving the leaders of Central Asian countries and the United States.
Agreements were reached to further strengthen the Uzbekistan–U.S. strategic partnership and expand cooperation between Central Asia and the United States within the C5+1 framework.
President Mirziyoyev also held meetings with U.S. Senator Steve Daines and members of Congress Carol Miller, Bill Huizenga, and Sydney Kamlager-Dove.
In addition, the Uzbek leader received U.S. Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick, President and Chairman of the Export-Import Bank John Jovanovich, International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) CEO Ben Black, and Global Executive Vice President of General Motors International, Shilpan Amin.
As part of the visit’s business agenda, a roundtable meeting was held with representatives of the American business community.
Following the meetings and negotiations, a number of bilateral and multilateral agreements were signed.
After concluding the program of official events, the President departed for Tashkent.
