Mirziyoyev visits home of late Ismoil Jurabekov, offers condolences to his family

Ismoil Jurabekov, a prominent state and public figure and advisor to the Minister of Water Resources of the Republic of Uzbekistan, passed away on September 28. On October 6, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited his home to offer condolences to the family. The Quran was recited and prayers were offered during the visit, the presidential press service reported.

The head of state remembered Jurabekov’s significant contributions and services to the country throughout his life.

Ismoil Jurabekov was born on September 12, 1931, in the city of Samarkand into a working-class family. Over the course of his career, he held several key positions in the water resources sector and made a valuable contribution to the development of irrigation and land reclamation in Uzbekistan. In 1985, he was appointed First Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Uzbekistan.

During the years of independence, Jurabekov continued to work effectively in senior government roles, including First Deputy Prime Minister, Head of State Water Supervision, and State Advisor to the President of Uzbekistan.

In recent years, despite his advanced age, he served as an advisor to the Minister of Water Resources and actively participated in implementing large-scale reforms aimed at building a “New Uzbekistan.”

Jurabekov’s services to the state and society were highly valued. He was awarded the honorary title of “Honored Irrigator of the Republic of Uzbekistan” as well as several other high state awards.

President Mirziyoyev expressed his condolences to Jurabekov’s children and relatives, wishing them strength and patience. The family, in turn, expressed their gratitude to the president for his visit and words of support.
