Mirziyoyev departs for Azerbaijan

The President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, departed for Azerbaijan on an official visit today, October 6, at the invitation of President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, the presidential press service reported.

The Head of State will take part in the main events of the next summit of the Organization of Turkic States.

The meeting, held under the theme ’’Regional peace and security,’’ will address issues of deepening multilateral cooperation in priority areas.

At the conclusion of the summit, a number of documents aimed at further expanding practical cooperation among member countries of the organization will be signed.

The 11th Summit of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) was held on November 6, 2024, in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan, under the theme ’’Strengthening the Turkic world: Economic integration, sustainable development, digital future, and security for all.’’ The summit was attended by the leaders of the five member states, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan, as well as the heads of observer countries. During the event, the heads of state discussed ways to further develop multilateral cooperation within the framework of the OTS and signed several key documents, including the final declaration. Earlier this year, on May 21, an informal summit of the Organization of Turkic States was also held in Hungary.

It is worth noting that earlier, the press service of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) informed QALAMPIR.UZ that the 12th Summit of the Council of Heads of State of the OTS would be held on October 6–7 this year in Gabala, Azerbaijan, under the theme ’’Regional peace and security.’’
