Presidents of regional countries and the leader of Azerbaijan, visiting Uzbekistan to attend the seventh Consultative Meeting of Central Asian heads of state, toured the Islamic Civilization Center in Tashkent together with Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the press service of the Uzbek leader reported.

The complex combines national architectural traditions with modern design. Four 34-meter-high facades frame the building, while a 65-meter-tall dome rises in the center in a traditional national style.

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon, Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov, and Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev visited the hall preserving the Uthman Mushaf of the Quran alongside President Mirziyoyev. This rare manuscript, one of the oldest copies of the Quran, holds immense historical and cultural significance, reflecting the deep spiritual threads that have shaped the region’s civilization.

Leaders also explored exhibitions titled “Pre-Islamic Civilizations,” “First Renaissance,” “Second Renaissance,” and “New Uzbekistan – New Renaissance.” These sections highlight the rich scholarly and spiritual heritage of great scholars such as Imam Bukhari, Imam Tirmidhi, Abu Mansur al-Maturidi, and Bahauddin Naqshband. The displays include manuscripts from the Samanid, Karakhanid, Khwarezmshah, and Timurid eras, along with translations into early Uzbek.

The leaders emphasized the importance of strengthening cultural ties between regional countries, advancing educational and spiritual projects, and fostering shared humanitarian values.

Uzbekistan’s extensive efforts to preserve and promote the region’s shared heritage were highly praised. The center is expected to serve as a modern research hub and open new horizons for scientific, educational, and cultural cooperation among Central Asian countries.

For reference, the seventh Consultative Meeting of Central Asian heads of state was held in Tashkent on 15–16 November under the chairmanship of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. A significant package of multilateral agreements is expected to be adopted following the meeting.
