Teachers in Uzbekistan will receive a 50 percent discount on selected public services. This is stipulated in a resolution adopted by the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan on April 17, titled “On Amendments and Additions to Certain Decisions of the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan.”

According to the amendments, pedagogical staff engaged in professional teaching and educational activities under employment contracts at educational institutions will be eligible to pay only 50 percent of the total cost for the following public services:

– state cadastral services related to real estate;
– services for connection to engineering and utility networks;
– services for assessing knowledge of general education subjects and issuing certificates;
– services granting permission to take exams for obtaining a tractor driver (tractor operator) license;
– services for apostille certification of official documents, among others.

The amendments also stipulate that directors and deputy directors of specialized schools and boarding schools must undergo management training courses organized by the Ministry of Culture of Uzbekistan once every five years, with release from their regular duties during the training period.

In addition, procedures have been established for expelling students, transferring them to other areas of study, and arranging transfers between specialized schools and boarding schools.
