Cobalt crashes into bus in Samarkand

A Cobalt vehicle crashed into a bus in the city of Samarkand after the driver reportedly fell asleep while driving, the regional Department of Road Safety reported.
According to official data, the incident occurred on November 2 at around 06:10 a.m. on Shohizinda Street in the Afrosiyob mahalla of Samarkand city. The Cobalt driver allegedly fell asleep at the wheel, lost control of the vehicle, hit a metal barrier on the left side of the road, and then crossed into the opposite lane, colliding with an oncoming “ASIASTAR” bus.
As a result of the accident, the Cobalt driver was taken to the hospital. There were no passengers in the bus at the time, but both vehicles sustained damage.
A preliminary investigation into the incident has been launched by the Samarkand City Department of Internal Affairs.
Earlier, a similar incident occurred in Tashkent, where a Tracker crashed into a bus at high speed.
