On May 4, Roma hosted Fiorentina at the Stadio Olimpico in the 35th round of the Italian Serie A and claimed a 1–0 victory. Uzbek forward Eldor Shomurodov contributed to the win by providing a decisive assist.

The match began with Roma showing early initiative. In one of the opening attacks, Shomurodov fired a dangerous shot that was saved by goalkeeper David De Gea. Shortly after, following a corner kick, Shomurodov headed the ball to teammate Artem Dovbyk, who scored into an almost empty net to give Roma the lead.

Shomurodov, having played a key role in the goal, was substituted at the start of the second half.

The scoreline remained unchanged for the rest of the match. With this win, Roma, under the management of Claudio Ranieri, moved up to fifth place in the standings with 63 points. Fiorentina, meanwhile, sits in eighth place with 59 points.
