Shomurodov becomes top scorer in Turkish Super League

On October 31, in the 11th round of the Turkish Super League, Istanbul Başakşehir hosted Kocaelispor. The only goal of the match was scored by Uzbekistan national team striker Eldor Shomurodov, securing a crucial victory for his team. With this goal, Shomurodov became the top scorer of the Turkish Super League.

Shomurodov played the full 90 minutes and successfully converted a penalty in the 90+1st minute, giving Başakşehir all three points. Uzbekistan national team member Abbos Fayzullaev missed the game due to injury and watched the match from the stands alongside national team head coach Fabio Cannavaro.

According to *Sofascore*, Shomurodov received a rating of 6.5 for his performance in the match.

At present, Eldor Shomurodov leads the Turkish Super League’s scoring chart with seven goals, sharing the top spot with Trabzonspor striker Paul Onuachu, who has also scored seven goals. Fenerbahçe’s Youssef En-Nesyri and Galatasaray’s Mauro Icardi follow with six goals each.

For reference, Galatasaray currently leads the league table with 28 points, followed by Trabzonspor with 23 points and Fenerbahçe with 22. Başakşehir sits in ninth place with 13 points.
