Law enforcement officers and military personnel will be mobilized to ensure security during the "Last Bell" events in schools across the country. This was reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
On May 24, from 8:00 to 10:00 in the morning, more than 10,000 schools throughout the republic will celebrate the "Last Bell" holiday. Over 2 million people, including graduates of grades 1, 9, and 11, as well as their parents, teachers, and public activists, are expected to attend the ceremonies.
To ensure order and safety, more than 27,000 employees from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the National Guard, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, and military personnel will be deployed across the country. The schools hosting events have undergone thorough inspections and are connected to centralized security control systems. Surveillance cameras in these schools are also integrated into regional situational monitoring centers.
Additionally, since the school year is coming to an end, an increased number of young people are expected to visit parks and recreational areas. To maintain safety, more than 5,000 law enforcement officers and military personnel will be stationed in these public spaces.
In areas where schools are located directly along roadsides, traffic police inspectors will be on high alert to ensure road safety. Depending on the location, vehicle movement near schools may be temporarily restricted.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs advises citizens to use public transportation as much as possible on May 24. Parents and guardians are urged not to allow graduates to remain in parks until midnight, consume alcohol, tobacco products or other prohibited substances, walk in groups late at night, operate cars, scooters, or mopeds, swim in rivers, canals, or pools, or carry dangerous items such as sharp objects or needles.
It was previously reported that the official last day of the school year is May 25. However, as it falls on a Sunday, the "Last Bell" events were scheduled to be held on Saturday, May 24.
