In January–October 2025, more than 33,000 foreign citizens arrived in Uzbekistan to pursue their studies, an increase of 51.5 percent compared to the previous year. This was reported by the National Statistics Committee.
According to the data, a total of 33,287 foreign nationals visited Uzbekistan for educational purposes during the first ten months of 2025. This is 11,307 more than in the same period of 2024, marking a growth rate of 51.5 percent.
The largest share of international students enrolled in Uzbekistan’s higher education institutions comes from India and Turkmenistan. The number of foreign citizens who arrived in Uzbekistan for education during the first ten months of this year is distributed by country as follows:

It is worth noting that earlier, it was reported that nearly 6.4 million Uzbek citizens traveled abroad for tourism between January and October 2025.
