Drug dealers arrested in Jizzakh and Samarkand

Individuals involved in the illegal sale of pharmaceutical products have been detained in the Jizzakh and Samarkand regions, the State Security Service reported.

In a special operation conducted in the city of Jizzakh, two citizens born in 1993 were caught red-handed while selling 400 Misoprostol tablets, 139 capsules, 2 bottles of balm, and 26 boxes intended for packaging, all without proper documentation, for 5,000 US dollars.

During the operation, a women’s fitness club in Jizzakh was also inspected, where authorities discovered a hidden workshop organized by the detainees. The facility was used for manually packaging, distributing, and preparing various types of medicines for sale.

Following the inspection, one packaging machine, a total of 141 ready-to-sell capsules, 1,040 counterfeit holograms in Chinese and English, 237 fake barcodes, 1,014 empty capsules, and various boxes and bags were seized and documented in accordance with legal procedures.

In a separate operation in Samarkand, a manager of a private company engaged in retail sales of pharmaceutical products was detained while selling 9,800 tablets containing psychotropic substances to an undercover buyer for 25 million soums. The drugs had reportedly been smuggled from Kyrgyzstan through bypass routes.

According to the report, investigative procedures are currently underway in both cases.

It is worth noting that earlier, in the Fergana region, 14,700 potent pharmaceutical tablets imported from Kyrgyzstan were confiscated.
