On December 13 of this year, a fire broke out at the Aviasozlar market in Yashnobod district of Tashkent. QALAMPIR.UZ visited the scene to gather details about the incident.
According to reports, at 01:30 a.m., the Tashkent Department of Emergency Situations received a call about a fire at one of the market’s administrative buildings located on Beshariq Street. Rescue teams arrived at the scene at 01:34 a.m. and immediately began firefighting efforts. The fire was localized at 02:29 a.m. and fully extinguished by 03:03 a.m. No reports of injuries were received as a result of the incident.
As the saying goes, “fire spares neither the dry nor the wet,” and all goods inside the traders’ shops were completely destroyed. However, entrepreneurs also shared their own views regarding the possible causes and consequences of the fire.
“Out of 12 months, this is the one time we really make sales. We bought a lot of goods to trade and hoped to earn some money ahead of the New Year. Now everything has burned down. No one has any money left. We all took out loans,” said one of the vendors.
“I did not have a large amount of goods here because I sell daily dairy products. In the evening, I took out stock worth 6 million 146 thousand soums. However, all my household equipment, including a refrigerator, air conditioner, and everything else, was destroyed in the fire. I have nothing left,” said a female entrepreneur.
