In the first quarter of this year, the Presidential People’s Reception Offices received a total of 296,235 appeals from 178,237 citizens. This was reported by the Presidential People’s Reception Office, which handles citizens’ appeals.

According to the information provided, in January-March this year, the main group of applicants was middle-aged citizens between 31 and 45, numbering 81,764. This accounts for nearly half of all applicants. The number of applicants aged 18 to 31 stood at 40,002, almost half the figure for the older group. More than two-thirds of all applicants fell within these two age categories.

The age breakdown of citizens who submitted appeals was as follows:

393 applicants were under 18;

  • 40,002 were aged 18-31;
  • 81,764 were aged 31-45;
  • 27,222 were aged 45-55;
  • 10,341 were aged 55-60;
  • 16,578 were aged 60-75;
  • 1,937 were aged 75-100.

In the first three months of the year, financial issues were the most common reason citizens turned to the Presidential People’s Reception Offices in Uzbekistan. In particular, appeals related to child allowance, alimony collection and one-time financial assistance were among the most frequently submitted.

The most pressing issues raised included:

  • child allowance;
  • alimony collection;
  • receiving one-time financial assistance;
  • inquiry and investigation matters;
  • issues related to committed offenses;
  • debt collection under enforcement documents;
  • one-time assistance for women;
  • employment;
  • assistance for medical treatment and surgery;
  • payment for completed work and services rendered;
  • gas cylinder refills;
  • reports of crimes, including fraud;
  • appeals against court documents in civil and criminal cases;
  • repair of internal roads;
  • power outages and the condition of electricity networks;
  • registration of cadastral documents.

The profile formed from this information shows not only the most pressing issues affecting the population, but also which areas of the system face the greatest legal and social challenges.

It is worth noting that at a videoconference chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on March 13 this year, dedicated to improving the system for handling citizens’ appeals, it was announced that People’s Reception Offices would no longer serve only as bodies that receive applications, but also as centers that diagnose problems in their regions.
