Uzbek singer Botir Qodirov has been fined again for copyright infringement, following a complaint by poet Shohrux Abduvohidov, who is known by the pseudonym "Abdussamiy." The Ministry of Justice confirmed the details of the case.
Authorities found that Qodirov had used Abduvohidov’s poetry—including the works "Qizg‘onaman," "So‘nggi Nafasgacha," "Sog‘indim Yomon," and "Dildora"—in his songs without authorization or proper payment of copyright fees.
As a result, the singer was charged under Article 177¹ of the Administrative Liability Code and the case was forwarded to court.
The Chilonzor District Criminal Court in Tashkent ruled that Qodirov had committed copyright infringement under Article 177¹, Part 2, and imposed a fine of 3,000,000 UZS (approximately eight times the base calculation amount).
Previously, poet Shamsiddin To‘rayev had also filed a complaint against Qodirov for similar violations, leading to an earlier fine of 1,875,000 UZS under Article 177¹, Part 1.
