Special training courses for employees of the internal affairs bodies have been launched at the Academy of Public Policy and Governance as part of the implementation of instructions given during a videoconference meeting chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on March 13 this year. This was reported by UzA.
The three-day program has been introduced as an important initiative aimed at improving internal affairs officers’ ability to communicate effectively with the public, address citizens’ appeals in a systematic and targeted manner, and strengthen both their professional competence and psychological preparedness.
According to the course program, participants will reinforce their theoretical knowledge and develop practical skills in analyzing public concerns in depth, finding targeted solutions, and applying modern approaches in communication with citizens.
At the same time, particular attention is being paid during the training to the ethics of public service, service discipline, and advanced methods of working with the population.
“During these training sessions, a special program based on international experience and adapted to national conditions has been developed. The main goal is to prepare officers who are intolerant of corruption, capable of listening to citizens’ concerns, able to resolve appeals under a new system, and ready to treat every issue as a matter that directly concerns them personally,” said the academy’s vice rector, Nosirjon Asqarov.
The program also covers such pressing topics as ensuring legality in investigation and inquiry processes, mechanisms for preventing offenses, and modern approaches to combating corruption.
This is significant because it is expected to enhance not only the participants’ professional capacity, but also their moral and educational development.
Representatives of the Presidential Administration, the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, the Supreme Court, the Prosecutor General’s Office, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Anti-Corruption Agency, the Chamber of Advocates, and the Republican Center for Spirituality and Enlightenment, as well as qualified professors, scholars, and experts, have been involved in the training sessions.
Participants’ knowledge and skills were initially assessed through entry tests, after which they were divided into groups based on the results, and work is now being carried out with each participant on the basis of an individual approach.
Practical sessions include real-life case studies and simulated situations designed to build important skills such as decision-making, stress tolerance, and improving service effectiveness.
Overall, this special course is intended to improve the professional skills of internal affairs officers, raise their culture of communication with the public, and increase the effectiveness of work with citizens’ appeals, thereby helping to strengthen public trust at the local level.
It is worth noting that during the videoconference meeting, the President critically discussed the fact that many appeals concerning the activities of internal affairs bodies continue to be submitted to virtual and public reception offices, and that in some cases negative opinions are being expressed about officers’ conduct and official performance.
