Uzbekistan’s national football team was subjected to a serious inspection by local police ahead of its friendly match against the Netherlands, ESPN reported.

Uzbekistan’s national team played a friendly match against the Netherlands on the night of June 8-9 ahead of the World Cup. Fabio Cannavaro’s side lost 2-1.

According to the source, after arriving at the stadium before the match, Uzbekistan’s national team was thoroughly checked using metal detectors and service dogs. In the video published by the outlet, players and coaching staff can be seen reacting with surprise to the situation.

The main match between the two national teams ended in a 2-1 victory for the European side. The Dutch took the lead in the 32nd minute after being awarded a penalty following a foul by Jahongir Orozov, with Cody Gakpo converting from the spot.

Igor Sergeyev equalized in the 90+2nd minute, during added time in the second half. However, near the end of the match, in the 90+8th minute, Gakpo completed his brace and secured victory for his team.

In the second training match between the two national teams, Uzbekistan defeated the Netherlands 2-1.
