Uzbekneftegaz appoints deputy chair for compliance and anti-corruption internal control

Zohid Karayev, a senior justice adviser, has been appointed as Deputy Chair of the Management Board of Uzbekneftegaz JSC in charge of compliance and anti-corruption internal control, the company’s press service reported.

In his address to the Oliy Majlis and the nation, the head of state announced that 2026 would be declared a year of a “state of emergency” in the fight against corruption across all organizations and institutions, instructing each organization’s head to appoint a deputy responsible for this area.

In line with this directive, Zohid Karayev has been appointed Deputy Chair of the Management Board of Uzbekneftegaz JSC for compliance and anti-corruption internal control.

Prior to this appointment, Zohid Karayev served as head of the Tashkent City Department of the Department for Combating Economic Crimes under the Prosecutor General’s Office.

Earlier, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed a presentation on the future tasks and plans of Uzbekneftegaz JSC. Particular attention was paid to combating theft and corruption in the oil and gas sector.
