Man in Yangiyul slaughters and eats dogs he had been raising (video)

A resident of Yangiyul city in Tashkent region reportedly raised and cared for his dog before later slaughtering and eating it. The “Mehr va Oqibat” animal protection society reported the incident.

According to the society, a Yangiyul resident contacted the organization’s call center and said that an acquaintance had obtained videos showing the dog’s owner killing the animal and butchering it for meat.

Following this, “Mehr va Oqibat” submitted an official request to the local internal affairs department, asking law enforcement to identify the individual responsible for cruelty to animals and to hold him accountable under the law.

The incident was also promptly examined by the “Ekolog” public association. According to the organization’s director, Nargis Qosimova, the inquiry established that the individual is 29 years old and resides in Yangiyo‘l.

The “Ekolog” association stated that the man had allegedly engaged in such actions on a regular basis. An application is currently being prepared in accordance with the established procedure to ensure legal measures are taken against him.

The report claims that the individual routinely killed dogs at his home in a cruel manner, including his own dogs, and consumed their meat. It is also alleged that he slaughtered puppies born to these dogs.

According to the statement, when volunteers and animal protection activists arrived at the scene together with local neighborhood inspectors, the man’s mother and sister were also present at the house. The mother reportedly refused to believe her son could have done such a thing and continued to deny it even after being shown the video footage.

It is worth noting that in 2025, cases were also reported in the sand dunes of Oltiariq and Buvayda districts, where individuals were found to be illegally keeping desert monitor lizards and snakes and preparing and selling soup from them.
