On June 16, as part of the 5th Tashkent International Investment Forum, a business forum was held at the initiative of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan with the participation of business representatives from Afghanistan, Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, Qatar, Kuwait, Malaysia, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Syria and the United Arab Emirates, as well as Uzbek export entrepreneurs.
At the event, Mohammad Abunayyan, a major businessman, head of ACWA Power and one of the most trusted representatives of the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, widely described around the world as the “king of green energy,” spoke about the attention being paid to business and investment in Uzbekistan and called on foreign businesspeople to invest.
“If you want to do business, invest, make it successful, enjoy it and earn good returns, you must definitely invest in Uzbekistan. If you do not come to Uzbekistan, you will miss a very, very, very big opportunity. I am also an entrepreneur. I currently operate and invest in 15 countries. But I can tell you clearly that Uzbekistan is the best country for investment. I can say this with confidence as an entrepreneur who has invested in this country and spent several profitable years here,” Mohammad Abunayyan said.

It was emphasized that the main purpose of the forum was to further strengthen trade and economic ties between Uzbekistan and countries of the Middle East and Asia, increase exports, attract investment and create an effective platform for direct dialogue between business circles.
“The business environment in Uzbekistan is quite stable and is becoming even better for investments and investors. This was my conclusion based on my own personal observations. After Mr. Abunayyan’s speech, I became even more convinced of this. Therefore, we hope to make even more investments in the future, and we see great potential in this regard,” said Saudi businessman Raid Marglani.
Uzbekistan is expanding the geography of markets that its products can enter. In this regard, the main goal is to conduct research, find new partners, further strengthen trade and economic ties with existing ones, and increase exports. Along this path, Uzbekistan is also working on new agreements with Indonesia.
“We recently began the initial stages of discussions on a free trade agreement between Indonesia and Uzbekistan. Currently, mutual trade turnover stands at nearly $181 million, and we hope this figure will grow further in the future. In this process, agreements between business representatives and forums that bring them together and introduce them to one another play a very important role. Uzbekistan has become very active in this regard in recent years. As is happening today, dialogue in the B2B format will certainly produce results tomorrow through major investments and large trade turnover,” said Indonesian Deputy Minister of Trade Dyah Roro Esti Widya Putri.

The B2B meetings held as part of the forum gave participants the opportunity to find new partners, present their products and services, and hold negotiations on export contracts and joint investment projects.
