The Ministry of Defense issues a statement on the condition of ammunition in the military unit where the explosion took place

Investigations are being conducted by military experts on a sudden explosion that happened in a warehouse of the military unit belonging to the Ministry of Defense in the Malik settlement of the Syrdarya region.  This was reported by the Press Service under the Defense Office.

According to the preliminary information from the ministry, there were no victims or serious injuries among the population and military personnel.  As a result of the explosion, the light structures, and windows in some neighborhoods around the military unit were damaged.

At the same time, with the involvement of specialists from official organizations, the neighborhoods located around the military unit are covered, and necessary measures are being taken to determine the damage caused and to eliminate it in a short period of time.

"It should be noted that the stock of ammunition in the military unit is stored in modern special warehouses that meet security requirements and comply with state standards.  Their safety is fully ensured," - the report of the ministry said.

It should be recalled that today 22 October, an explosion occurred in a warehouse of a military unit in the Malik settlement of the Syrdarya region.  According to the Ministry of Health, 16 people were injured in the incident.
