Uzbekistan and Qatar signed a strategic cooperation deal

2423Yesterday, on April 15, Uzbekistan and Qatar signed a bilateral agreement on strategic partnership. This announcement came from Uzbekistan's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bakhtiyor Saidov.
Reportedly, various collaboration matters were addressed during the meeting, held as part of the 2nd session of the "Central Asia-Gulf Arab States Cooperation Council" Strategic Dialogue.
Minister Saidov stated, "We're pleased to announce the elevation of bilateral relations between Uzbekistan and Qatar to the status of a strategic partnership. In Tashkent, alongside His Excellency Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jasim Al Soni, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, we formalized the establishment of bilateral strategic partnership ties."
For context, Uzbekistan and Qatar established their initial diplomatic ties in November 1997.
It's worth mentioning that previously, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jasim Al Soni, hosted Uzbekistan's President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, where they discussed the Trans-Afghan railway project.
