Apple, Google, Meta: How much tax are foreign companies paying in Uzbekistan?

In the first quarter of this year, 89 foreign companies providing electronic services in Uzbekistan paid 65.7 billion soums in taxes. The State Tax Committee reported this.
According to the committee, in the first three months of 2026, 89 foreign companies providing electronic services paid 65.7 billion soums in taxes. This represents an 81 percent increase compared with the previous year. In the same period of 2025, 68 foreign companies paid 36.2 billion soums in taxes.
Apple was the largest taxpayer, transferring 16.1 billion soums to the state budget. Google paid nearly 14.9 billion soums in taxes. Interestingly, TikTok, which is blocked in Uzbekistan, also paid 868.3 million soums in taxes in the first quarter of this year. According to data from a year earlier, the company ranked fifth among foreign companies that contributed the most to the budget, with 934.8 million soums paid in taxes.
This year, the top 10 list also included the new artificial intelligence company Anthropic, which entered the ranking with 1.5 billion soums in tax payments. OpenAI, which paid 1.1 billion soums in taxes last year, contributed an additional 2.5 billion soums to the budget this time.
The top 10 foreign companies providing electronic services that paid the most taxes are:
- Apple – 16.1 billion soums;
- Google – 14.9 billion soums;
- Meta – 13.9 billion soums;
- Valve Corp. – 8 billion soums;
- OpenAI – 2.5 billion soums;
- Anthropic – 1.5 billion soums;
- Midasbuy – 1.3 billion soums;
- TikTok – 868.3 million soums;
- Booking.com – 694.7 million soums;
- Netflix – 570.4 million soums.
Earlier, it was reported that six top bloggers in Uzbekistan with more than 3 million subscribers earned a total of 2.7 billion soums in 2025 and paid 110.4 million soums in taxes to the budget.
