Azim Mullakhonov, an artist who served in Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, was appointed to the position of the State Musical Theater of Uzbekistan named after Mukimi.

The appointment was made today, 22 February.

Today, a meeting was held at the Muqimi State Musical Theater of Uzbekistan with the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the theater team.  The Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Uzbekistan Bahadir Ahmedov took part in it and introduced Azim Mullakhanov to the team.

Also, at the meeting, Doston Hakberdiyev was introduced to the team as the new chief director of the theater.

Although Azim Mullakhanov as an artist is far from theater and acting, the State Musical Theater of Uzbekistan named after Mukimi has an important place in his life.  He is the only son of People's Artist of Uzbekistan Farogat Rahmatova, who worked at the Muqimi State Musical Theater of Uzbekistan until the end of his life.  Farogat Rahmatova died in 2014 at the age of 88.

For information, Azim Mullakhanov was born on 17 February 1960, in Tashkent.  His entry into the field of art dates back to his youth.  At the age of 15, he was hired as a sound engineer at Muqimi Theater.  After that, he was hired as a guitarist in the orchestra conducted by the People's Artist of Uzbekistan Nabi Khalilov.  After winning first place in the contest named after Botir Zakirov held in 1990, he increased his attention to singing.  He also came to the public's attention thanks to the song he performed for the TV series "Shaytanat".
