A wedding cortege was involved in a road traffic accident in the Alat district of the Bukhara region, the Bukhara Regional Department of Internal Affairs reported.
According to the report, vehicles in the wedding convoy were driving aggressively in the Alat district. The drivers of a Cobalt and a Malibu were competing for the right of way. As a result, the Cobalt collided with the Malibu and subsequently crashed into the roadside.
Administrative reports were drawn up under Article 128-10 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility (drivers operating vehicles on sidewalks, pedestrian and bicycle paths, green areas, and failing to comply with road signs and other traffic regulations) and Article 133 (violation of vehicle operation rules).
The collected materials were reviewed by the Alat District Court for Criminal Cases, which sentenced the driver to a one-year suspension of his driving license and imposed a fine of 25 times the base calculation amount (10,300,000 soums).
Earlier, four people were reported killed in a road traffic accident involving a wedding cortege on the Dangara–Sarband highway in the Khatlon region of Tajikistan.
