Man arrested in Chinaz for running illegal gambling house at home

A resident of Chinaz district in Tashkent region has been detained for organizing illegal gambling games at his home, the State Security Service reported.

According to the report, the suspect, a local resident born in 1967, was found to have organized gambling activities at his residence involving 10 participants. During оперативно-search operations, law enforcement officers seized a total of 140 million soums in cash that had been staked during the gambling games. The money was registered as material evidence.

It was reported that a criminal case has been initiated against the organizer under Article 278 of the Criminal Code (organizing and conducting gambling and other risk-based games). The remaining participants have been subjected to administrative liability under Article 191 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility (gambling and other risk-based games).

Earlier, it was reported that nearly 70 websites promoting betting services were blocked in Uzbekistan.
