Three women stranded in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, returned to Uzbekistan. This was reported by "Dunyo" news agency.
It is noted that Uzbeks I.Kh., I.G. and their minor child I.M. traveled to the UAE on December 22, 2024 at the invitation of a close relative and settled in a rented house in Dubai. During the past time, they have been living illegally in the UAE without obtaining a visa to stay.
The person who invited the guests to the UAE broke off contact on February 23, saying that he was leaving for Qatar. In early March, the owner of the house demanded that the rent be paid, and if the rent was not paid, he would leave the house, and kicked the Uzbeks out.
During the interview with the women, it became clear that they did not have enough money for housing, food, or to return to their homeland.
The Consulate General's staff, together with the Women and Children's Aid Center charity organization in the Emirates and active Uzbeks, provided the necessary assistance to these citizens in need.
Their debt of $2,178 accrued during their illegal stay in the UAE was resolved positively as a result of negotiations with the relevant authorities of this country.
The representative office of the national airline Uzbekistan Airways in the UAE issued free tickets for the Dubai-Tashkent flight to return to their families.
It should be recalled that on March 12-14 of this year, 19 Uzbek citizens, including women previously detained by Saudi Arabian law enforcement agencies, were returned to Uzbekistan.
