Mobile numbers can now be transferred to another person online

In Uzbekistan, it is now possible to transfer ownership of a mobile phone number to another person online through the my.gov.uz portal, according to a statement published on its Telegram channel.
Under the new system, both the current owner of the number and the new owner must confirm the transfer through the MyID system when submitting an application. The cost of the service will vary depending on the mobile operator's tariff policy.
Previously, to complete this process, both parties—the current owner and the recipient—were required to visit a mobile operator’s service center in person, wait in line, present identification documents (passport or ID card), and sign the necessary paperwork.
It is worth noting that earlier, an online service for switching pension payments to cash was also launched via the my.gov.uz portal.
