The construction of the Saryagash bypass road, which has begun in Kazakhstan’s Turkistan region, is expected to speed up road travel to Uzbekistan. This was reported by the Kazakh Cabinet of Ministers.

According to the report, the project will divert transit transport outside the city in Turkistan region, reduce congestion on internal roads, and further accelerate traffic toward Uzbekistan.

As part of the project, a modern four-lane highway with a total length of 102.6 kilometers will be built. The road will meet international standards and ensure the uninterrupted and safe movement of vehicles.

At present, the total length of nationally significant highways in the region stands at 678 kilometers. Five major and medium-scale repair projects covering a total of 99.2 kilometers are currently being implemented. These projects also include the reconstruction of transport interchanges and bridges along key routes.

This year, an additional five medium-scale repair projects are planned on the 103-kilometer Shymkent–Kyzylorda highway. Automated traffic control systems are also expected to be installed on this road.

As a result of the comprehensive implementation of these projects, a modern and safe road network will be created, the quality of transport services in the region will improve, and Kazakhstan’s transit potential in Central Asia will be further strengthened.

Earlier, it was reported that a two-level overpass would be built at the intersection of Mustaqillik Shoh Street, Mirzo Ulugbek Street, and Buyuk Ipak Yoli Street in Tashkent.
