The Cadastral Agency has issued an official warning to the public, urging citizens not to fall victim to fraudulent schemes related to land acquisition.
According to the agency, in recent times, several former or current employees of cadastral institutions have been involved in scams, making false promises such as "I will acquire land" or "I will change the category of the land plot." Many of these individuals have already been detained by law enforcement agencies.
“We categorically state that neither territorial departments nor affiliated organizations—and not even the leadership of the Cadastral Agency—hold the authority to carry out such actions,” the agency emphasized in its statement.
The agency also stressed that no individual or institution is legally allowed to facilitate such processes in exchange for money. All related activities are strictly regulated by law.
The agency clarified the following:
1. Land plots intended for residential or entrepreneurial purposes are sold exclusively through public online auctions;
2. The reclassification of land categories is permitted only by a decision of the President of Uzbekistan.
Additionally, even in cases where the category of land is changed, the land is transferred to the state reserve and must be resold through official channels.
“Therefore, we strongly urge citizens to report any suspicious offers from former or current cadastral employees to law enforcement agencies or via the Cadastral Agency’s short number 1097,” the statement concluded.
