On August 5, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev took part in a special event dedicated to the preparations for the upcoming seventh Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia. The event was held in Turkmenistan, and the President's participation was confirmed by the press service of the head of state.
The gathering was attended by the National Leader of the Turkmen People and Chairman of the People's Council of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan and Head of the Presidential Administration Adilbek Kosimaliev, Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Ali Asadov, as well as members of official delegations and public representatives.

In line with the agenda, key aspects of preparation for the Consultative Meeting—scheduled to take place in Tashkent—were reviewed. President Mirziyoyev presented a detailed update on ongoing efforts under Uzbekistan’s chairmanship, noting that a Chairmanship Concept and Joint Action Plan had been adopted earlier this year.
Several events have already been held under this framework, including meetings of Security Council Secretaries, heads of special services, and ministers responsible for industry, energy, water management, and ecology. Media and youth forums have also taken place. Additional events are planned before year-end, including an interparliamentary forum, meetings of defense, trade, and transport ministers, and various cultural and humanitarian programs.

Preparations are underway to adopt conceptual documents that will define a new agenda for regional cooperation and strengthen the legal foundations of Central Asian partnership.
President Mirziyoyev emphasized Uzbekistan’s intention to advance several new initiatives at the Tashkent summit to deepen political dialogue, stimulate economic cooperation, and boost cross-border trade. He noted that priority areas will include water and energy sector collaboration, improving transport connectivity, and addressing climate change.
The presence of Azerbaijan was highlighted with appreciation. The President noted that the countries of Central Asia are actively cooperating with Azerbaijan in trade, transport, and the development of green energy. Joint projects are currently being implemented across these sectors.
In closing, President Mirziyoyev expressed confidence that the shared and coordinated approaches of the Central Asian nations will support continued growth and prosperity across the region.
It should be recalled that President Mirziyoyev arrived in Turkmenistan on August 4 at the invitation of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov. Upon his arrival at the airport in Turkmenbashi, he was welcomed by National Leader Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. Later that day, Mirziyoyev held a bilateral meeting with him.
Also on August 5, a welcoming ceremony was held at the Avaza resort area in Turkmenbashi for participants of the "UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries". Among those attending the UN event are UN Secretary-General António Guterres, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, and Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze.
