19 officials dismissed over shortcomings in handling public appeals

Nineteen employees were dismissed and 36 others faced disciplinary action following inspections at ministries, agencies and local administrations that violated deadlines for reviewing public appeals, the People’s Reception Office of the President of Uzbekistan reported.

According to the office, the inspections were carried out as part of efforts to ensure the implementation of Presidential Decree No. 51 of April 1, 2026, “On Additional Measures to Effectively Organize the System of Dialogue with the Population.” The review covered the work of ministries, agencies and local administrations in handling public appeals.

The inspections found that 41 ministries, agencies and local administrations had violated deadlines for reviewing appeals in a total of 1,070 cases. In response, letters of supervision were sent to the heads of these organizations, instructing them to promptly eliminate the shortcomings, hold responsible employees accountable and prevent similar cases from recurring.

According to the analysis, the highest number of deadline violations was recorded at the Andijan regional administration, with 137 cases, followed by the Ministry of Poverty Reduction and Employment with 107, the Surkhandarya regional administration with 103, the Committee for Competition Development and Consumer Rights Protection with 79, and the Association of Mahallas of Uzbekistan with 65.

Internal service inspections were conducted over the identified shortcomings. As a result, 36 employees were subjected to disciplinary measures, while 19 employees were dismissed from their positions.

In addition, materials related to 13 ministries and agencies that violated the requirements of Presidential Decree No. 51 by failing to meet appeal review deadlines and not taking measures to address the shortcomings were submitted to the Prosecutor General’s Office for legal assessment.

Earlier, 44 heads of district electricity supply enterprises were dismissed over electricity losses.
