Khatm al-Qur’an events will be held in 1,762 mosques across Uzbekistan during the month of Ramadan, the Committee for Religious Affairs reported.
According to the statement, all necessary organizational measures have been taken by the Committee for Religious Affairs, the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan, and relevant ministries and agencies to prepare for and properly observe Ramadan this year.
In accordance with the presidential resolution “On the Proper Observance of the Holy Month of Ramadan,” activities during the month will be carried out under the theme “Ramadan – the month of compassion, solidarity, and gratitude.”
During Ramadan, Tarawih prayers will be performed in 2,101 of the country’s 2,148 operating mosques. Of these, 1,762 mosques will host Khatm al-Qur’an events. A total of 3,642 skilled reciters have been selected for the process.
Based on experience from previous years, the Khatm al-Qur’an recitations will begin at the same time in all mosques and conclude on the 27th night of Ramadan, Laylat al-Qadr.
To ensure the orderly conduct of Tarawih prayers, personnel from the Interior Ministry, the National Guard, and the Fire Safety Service, as well as 2,104 units of special equipment, will be deployed.
Earlier, the prayer times for Tarawih in Uzbekistan were announced.
