Uzbek chess prodigy Nodirbek Abdusattorov clinched the title at the "Tepe Sigeman-2024" championship hosted in Sweden.

The "Tepe Sigeman-2024" event took place in Malmo, Sweden, spanning from April 27 to May 3. The 19-year-old Uzbek chess sensation secured 4.5 points during the primary round, prevailing over Russian player Peter Svidler and Indian contender Arjun Erigaisi in a tiebreaker to claim victory.

At the conclusion of March, the 19-year-old Nodirbek Abdusattorov ascended to the fourth position in the FIDE rating (Elo rating), amassing 2765 points. This achievement placed him above reigning world champion Ding Lizhen from China (2762) and other renowned chess figures. Norway's Magnus Carlsen, the multiple-time world champion, retains the top spot with 2830 points. Abdusattorov holds the record for the highest rating among Uzbekistani chess players, surpassing the previous record set by Rustam Qosimjanov, who attained 11th place with 2715 points.
