The World Boxing Association (WBA) has ordered a title fight in the super welterweight division. According to the organization’s decision, reigning champion Rolando Romero must defend his belt against the mandatory challenger from Uzbekistan, Shakhram Giyasov.

Both fighters’ teams have been given 30 days to negotiate the terms of the bout, with the deadline set for November 13. If no agreement is reached within this period, the rights to organize the fight will be decided through an open purse bid among promoters.

For reference, the 30-year-old American Rolando Romero has fought 19 times in his professional career, recording 17 wins and 2 losses. He most recently defeated fellow American Ryan Garcia. The 32-year-old Shakhram Giyasov holds a professional record of 17 wins and no defeats. Giyasov is scheduled to face Russian boxer Mark Urvanov in Tashkent on November 14.
