The Termez International Trade Center has delivered significant results, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev said on February 27 during a meeting on the comprehensive development of the Surkhandarya region. According to the President, more than 800,000 Afghan citizens visited the center last year, and exports reached $320 million.

Entrepreneurs and investors have put forward proposals to expand their activities and establish large-scale production facilities at the Termez International Trade Center.

In this regard, it has been decided to expand the center’s территории to 1,000 hectares. Officials have been instructed to increase export volumes at the center to $600 million this year and to $1 billion next year, as well as to create an additional 10,000 jobs.

With the launch of new projects, both the number of entrepreneurs and visitors arriving for trade is expected to multiply. To ensure the rule of law within the center, a special prosecutor’s office and an internal affairs unit will be established.

From now on, trade in goods and services conducted within the center will be treated as exports, and a zero rate of value-added tax will be applied to them.

Earlier, Mirziyoyev stated that the governor of Surkhandarya region and district governors have been tasked with increasing investment to $3 billion and exports to $1 billion this year.
