Earlier, audio and video circulated on social media in which an official from the Olmazor District Department for the Coordination of Internal Affairs Bodies in Tashkent was heard instructing prevention inspectors to find vagrants in the streets, draw up reports, and fulfill a quota. That official has now been dismissed. This was announced today, April 11, by Deputy Interior Minister and Head of the Investigation Department Ramazon Ashrapov in response to a question from a QALAMPIR.UZ journalist during a press conference on the analytical report for the first quarter of this year on the activities of internal affairs bodies.
According to the deputy minister, the head of the Crime Prevention Department of the Olmazor District Department for the Coordination of Internal Affairs Bodies, who had ordered inspectors to find vagrants, has been removed from his post.
It should be noted that some time earlier, he had sent a video instruction to prevention inspectors via Telegram, in which he ordered officers to find vagrants in the streets and said the quota had to be fulfilled.
In the video instruction, he also said that if officers could not find any vagrants, they should classify their relatives as vagrants and draw up administrative reports against them.
“Everything is at zero. Every direction is at zero: vagrants zero, administrative reports zero, administrative supervision zero. What is wrong with you? Can none of you produce even one vagrant? Bring your relative and lock him up as a vagrant. You are the vagrant yourself,” he says.
In addition, in another video, the official said that he had apparently promised to produce 300 administrative reports.
“Prevention inspectors, I have already given my word. I need to make it 300 by 12:00. If any one of you starts arguing now, do not be offended. Everyone must go out now, all of you. I will go out myself,” he says.
