Traffic restrictions have been introduced in parts of Tashkent from May 2 to May 11, particularly on streets adjacent to the square in front of the National Library of Uzbekistan, according to the city administration’s press service.
The restrictions are linked to the “Tashkent Flowers Fest — 2026,” scheduled to take place on May 7–9. During this period, vehicle movement will be limited in the following areas:
Zarafshon Street, between the security checkpoint of the Hyatt Regency Tashkent and Mustaqillik Avenue;
Istiqlol Street, between Amir Temur Avenue and Buyuk Turon Street;
Buyuk Turon Street, from its intersection with Istiqlol Street to the Youth Creativity Palace.
Earlier, authorities also announced planned repair work on the overpass located at the intersection of Bunyodkor and Cho‘ponota streets in the Chilonzor district. As a result, one lane of the overpass in the direction from Novza metro station to Chilonzor metro station will be closed to traffic from April 30 to May 16.
