1 person dies in major fire in Tashkent (video)

Earlier, a fire was reported at the Aviator shopping and entertainment center in Tashkent’s Yashnobod district. One person was killed in the incident, the Ministry of Emergency Situations said.

According to the ministry, at 3:47 p.m. a report was received by the Tashkent City Department of Emergency Situations about a fire at the Aviator building located on Parkent Street.

Rescue teams arrived at the scene at 3:53 p.m.

The situation was taken under full control by the Tashkent City Department of Emergency Situations.

The fire was contained at 4:50 p.m. and fully extinguished at 5:17 p.m.

Initially, the ministry reported that there were no fatalities as a result of the fire. However, after reports circulated on social media claiming that a child had died in the incident, the ministry released additional information confirming a fatality.

At present, no details have been provided regarding the age or gender of the deceased.
