The Uzbekistan women’s national football team has qualified for the AFC Women’s Asian Cup for the first time in 23 years. The news was announced by the Uzbekistan Football Association.

The final round of Asian Cup qualifiers took place in Tashkent, where Uzbekistan competed against the women’s national teams of Sri Lanka, Laos, and Nepal. The team began its campaign with a dominant 10–0 victory over Sri Lanka on June 29, followed by a 7–0 win against Laos on July 2.

The decisive match of the group stage was held on July 5 against Nepal. The dramatic encounter ended in a 3–3 draw in regular time, leading to a penalty shootout. Uzbekistan emerged victorious, securing their long-awaited place in the AFC Women’s Asian Cup.

As a result, the Uzbekistan women's team will compete in the upcoming continental championship, which will be held in Australia.
