The decisive match of the CAFA Nations Cup 2025 will take place today at the Olimpiya Stadium in Tashkent. Kickoff is scheduled for 19:30, with Uzbekistan set to face long-time rival Iran.
In their last four encounters, the two sides were unable to break the deadlock, with each match ending in a draw. This adds to expectations that today’s final will be tense and closely contested.
Uzbekistan last reached the final of the CAFA 2023 tournament, where it lost to Iran. This time, the national team has the opportunity to take “revenge” and claim a historic title. The CAFA Nations Cup, held every two years since 2023, now sees the Uzbek and Iranian teams meeting in the final for the second consecutive edition.
Today’s match will not only decide the champion but also add a new chapter to the long-standing rivalry between the two national teams.
It is also noteworthy that FIFA President Gianni Infantino arrived in Uzbekistan earlier today to attend the final at the Olimpiya Stadium.
