During military exercises at the Termez training ground in the Surkhandarya region, Russian and Uzbek forces practiced seizing a base held by a simulated illegal armed group, the Russian Defense Ministry reported.
According to the scenario, illegal armed groups crossed the state border and occupied territories in the border area to gather forces and equipment for further attacks on infrastructure facilities. Joint forces of the two countries blocked the simulated group, identified their strongholds, and detected areas where equipment and manpower were concentrated.

During the tactical phase, Russian reconnaissance and strike drones conducted aerial surveillance. They destroyed the armored and automotive equipment of the simulated armed group, creating favorable conditions for the subsequent assault by the joint forces.
Assault teams of motorized rifle units, using vehicles such as carts, pickups, and motorcycles under the cover of BTR-82A armored personnel carriers, cleared the border areas of the simulated enemy.

Additionally, crews of T-72 tanks from the Armed Forces of Uzbekistan provided cover and protection for the joint units during the operation.
For reference, the joint military exercises of the Armed Forces of Uzbekistan and Russia, “Partnership-2025,” are taking place at the Termez training ground from July 15 to 21. The Russian contingent primarily consists of mountain and assault units, mobile electronic warfare groups, reconnaissance UAVs, FPV drones, and aviation crews operating Mi-24 combat helicopters.
It should be noted that on July 14, Russian military personnel arrived in Uzbekistan to participate in the “Partnership-2025” training exercise.
