President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Federal President of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier planted a tree in the Alley of Honored Guests on June 17. The press service of the Uzbek leader reported this.

According to the report, following the high-level Uzbekistan-Germany talks, Presidents Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Frank-Walter Steinmeier took part in a tree-planting ceremony.

The tree planted in the Alley of Honored Guests at the Kuksaroy residence will become a symbol of the strengthening bonds of friendship, trust and mutual understanding between the peoples of Uzbekistan and Germany, as well as mark the beginning of a new stage in the history of bilateral relations.

Earlier, it was reported that Frank-Walter Steinmeier arrived in Uzbekistan with his wife and that an official welcoming ceremony was held for him at the Kuksaroy residence. Later, talks between Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Frank-Walter Steinmeier were held at the Kuksaroy residence, both in a narrow format and with the participation of official delegations. Following the talks, a joint statement was adopted, confirming the intention to further strengthen multifaceted cooperation.
