Presidents of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan visit Bukhara

On March 27, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived in Bukhara to take part in the second day of events of the Uzbekistan–Tajikistan summit, according to the Uzbek leader’s press service.
It was reported that at Bukhara International Airport, the head of state personally welcomed President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, who is on a state visit to Uzbekistan.

A formal welcoming ceremony was held, during which national music and dance performances were presented in honor of the distinguished guest.

According to reports, the leaders will visit historical landmarks in ancient Bukhara. They are also expected to review the activities of industrial enterprises.

Earlier, Emomali Rahmon had arrived in Tashkent on a state visit, where he was welcomed by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev at Tashkent International Airport. A formal reception ceremony was also held at the Kuksaroy residence.
Subsequently, Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Emomali Rahmon held talks in a narrow format at the Kuksaroy residence and conducted the first meeting of the Supreme Intergovernmental Council. The two leaders also participated in the launch ceremony of major cooperation projects. Following the council meeting, a signing and exchange ceremony of bilateral documents took place.
Additionally, as part of the state visit, a ceremonial event was held to mark the opening of the new building of Tajikistan’s embassy in Tashkent. Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Emomali Rahmon also attended a traditional concert featuring artists from both countries at the “Uzbekistan” International Forums Palace.
