Over 100 kilos of drugs seized in Uzbekistan in two days

On February 3-4, the State Security Service and the Ministry of Internal Affairs conducted 653 large-scale narcotics operations across Uzbekistan, resulting in criminal charges against 228 individuals and administrative penalties for 64 others. This was reported by the State Security Service.
According to the report, the operations aimed to combat individuals and criminal groups engaged in the illegal trafficking of narcotics and powerful drugs.
During these operations, authorities seized a total of 112.25 kilograms of narcotics, including heroin, opium, hashish, and synthetic drugs, along with 8,601 units of potent pharmaceuticals. Additionally, law enforcement confiscated $287,460 and 569 million sums obtained through the illegal drug trade, registering them as evidence.
As a result, 228 individuals were criminally charged across 222 initiated cases, while 64 others faced administrative penalties. Law enforcement also apprehended 47 wanted individuals. Furthermore, preventive discussions were held with 357 individuals, and 231 were issued official warnings.
Security forces also confiscated various weapons, including 175 blades, 58 batons, 24 knives, and 77 firearms.
"Operational measures to stabilize the crime situation will continue in other areas," the statement read.
Previously, from January 27-31, the State Security Service and the Ministry of Internal Affairs carried out large-scale "anti-terrorist-clearing" operations, leading to the arrest of 169 individuals on criminal charges and 270 on administrative violations. During these activities, authorities identified 418 individuals with a high propensity for serious crimes and launched criminal cases against them. The operations also dismantled 42 criminal groups, detained 109 wanted persons, and placed 270 individuals in administrative detention.
