Cold anticyclone moving into Uzbekistan – Uzhydromet

Cold air masses are moving into Uzbekistan, Uzhydromet has warned.
According to the agency, air temperatures are expected to drop across almost all regions of the country by January 16–17. Daytime temperatures will also decline, while colder conditions are forecast during nighttime and early morning hours.
At the same time, precipitation is also expected as a result of the anticyclone. In some areas, short-term rainfall or snowfall is forecast. Precipitation and wind are likely to help wash out fine particles accumulated in the atmosphere, which may temporarily improve air quality.
It is worth noting that earlier reports noted that the arrival of a cold anticyclone in Uzbekistan could lead to the accumulation of pollutants and fine particulate matter in the atmosphere.
