Uzbek chess player qualifies for World Cup

Uzbek chess player Afruz Khamdamova claimed first place in the 34th Regional Asian Championship, held in Almaty, Kazakhstan, and qualified for the FIDE World Cup. The "UzChess" project press service reported the achievement.
According to the source, Khamdamova recorded six wins and three draws across nine rounds in the tournament, earning 7.5 points and improving her rating by 17.6 points.
The World Cup will be held in Batumi, Georgia, from July 5 to 29 this year.
